Bow & Drape is a destination to express great taste. We design sophisticated silhouettes that women can make their own. We also provide simple and practical accessories for everyday use. Our seamless process guides women to select modifications as they shop. Every detail of a Bow & Drape garment is hand selected from the finest materials, and made-to-order in two weeks by NYC’s distinguished garment makers.
WHAT CAN I CUSTOMIZE?
We have curated a selection of design modifications. After you choose one of our silhouettes or accessories, you can modify the almost every element of the design including: hem length, sleeves, neckline, trim, color, and fabric. There are over 300,000 possibilities, so you can create a one-of-a-kind piece that will fit your lifestyle as well as your body.
WHAT KIND OF CLOTHES DO YOU SELL?
We have fourteen designs in our collection and you can personalize each one:
The Twiggy – This classic boat neck shift dress is versatile piece well suited for a variety of occasions and seasons. Available in cotton, silk, or georgette.
The Jackie + Michelle - An iconic dress for an iconic woman. This cotton poplin dress is easily altered by choosing different bodices and skirts.
The Diane – The quintessential day to night silhouette. This 100% silk or georgette faux wrap dress. Can be worn to the office, or can be designed and stylized for a more formal occasion.
The Kate – Our version of the T Shirt Dress in almost any neckline you could dream of.
The Cardimono – Our newest signature garment, inspired by a vintage find. Designed to provide lightweight coverage and take you from work to play.
The Bette + Juli – Easy to wear and ultra feminine, the circle skirt can be dressed up with heels & a shell or dressed down with a T shirt & flats.
The Hepburn – The quintessential skirt for easy spring living, whether in the city or on the water. It cinches to create a wasp waist and then unfurls to flatter many body types. The high waistline allows slim and curvy girls alike to create shape.
The Silk Shell – We designed our shell with all our favorite necklines, so choosing just one is never an issue. The raglan sleeve is easy, and the top comes in breathable silk to get through the warmer months.
The Perfect Tee – This T shirt is made of high quality micro-modal and feels almost like silk on your skin. Its details make it elegant enough to wear as a layer to the office but casual enough to don with your favorite jeans.
WHAT FABRICS DO YOU OFFER?
Your fabric choices are:
Cotton Poplin - A classic fabric that works well in all seasons, cotton sateen is a sturdy fabric with a little stretch and a little sheen to it. Machine washable. Perfect for work and cocktails.
Silk crepe de chine – Gorgeous 100% silk is a mainstay in any wardrobe – breathable, lustrous, beautiful. Dry clean only.
Georgette - Georgette is a sheer, lightweight, matte finished crepe fabric named after the early 20th century French dressmaker Georgette de la Plante. Perfect for travel. Machine washable.
WHAT TRIM DO YOU OFFER?
We offer a number of trims seasonally, some as limited editions. Check back frequently because our stock changes. Currently, we offer:

• Piping
• Other limited edition trim
WHAT IF I DO NOT SEE AN OPTION THAT I WANT?
If you want a certain dress option, color or trim, but cannot find it, be sure to let us know. You can suggest any option to us via email at info@bowanddrape.com. We will aggregate suggestions and decide on the best options for our customers.
HOW DO I ORDER?
Browse our collection of made-for-you apparel, and select “modify” if you’d like to make design alterations on each product. Our technology lets you view these changes within seconds, creating a digital image of your design in real-time and allowing you to see what you created before placing an order. When you have made all the changes you want and the garment looks perfect, select your sizing and click “add to cart”. You can then continue shopping or check out.
Bow & Drape currently accepts all major credit cards.
HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?
All clothing is made-to-order within two weeks. We will keep you updated by sending out email alerts when your order leaves our dressmakers, and provide you with a UPS tracking code. Shipping domestically typically takes 3-5 days.
WHERE IS THE CLOTHING MADE?
All our clothing is proudly made in the New York City’s Garment District.
DO YOU OFFER EXTENDED SIZING – PLUS-SIZE OR PETITES?
Clothing is currently available in sizes 0-18. Clients have the option to purchase skirts and dresses in multiple hem lengths, to accommodate women of different heights.
DO YOU HAVE CUSTOM SIZING?
All sizing is in standard US women’s dress sizes (0-18), but we place attention on making sure you find the right one. We believe that our expert pattern-makers and seamstresses have created a superior fit. When you are fit appropriately, total custom sizing is not necessary. See our HOME TRY-ON for additional ways to ensure a better fit.
HOW CAN I BE SURE I GET THE PERFECT FIT?
We worked with one of NYC’s top pattern makers, who collaborates with the finest couture and ready-to-wear designers in the country, in order to construct a great fit. To ensure that you are comfortable with your piece, we provide a couple of options. Choose which works for you:
1. HOME TRY-ON
We are dedicated to finding the perfect fit to flatter your shape. If you are not sure what size to order, or how a particular cut or silhouette will look, our free HOME TRY-ON is a great place to start.
The HOME TRY-ON includes swatches of seasonal colors and fabrics, as well as a muslin in your size – plus a size up and a size down – to indicate our clothing fit and your relative size. Keep in mind that in the fashion industry, muslins are not the finished product – they are prototypes of a garment made in a less expensive material that closely resembles the drape and feel of the final fabric. Muslins are used by tailors to get a feel for how a garment fits on the body before starting on the actual garment. In other words, it’s not going to be nearly as gorgeous as the finished garment, and should just be used as a measuring tool for fit and cut.
After you have tried on the muslins, send them back to us with your desired size so we can get started right away on your made-for-you garment.
2. CONSULTATION WITH A STYLIST
You also have the option to live chat with one of our expert stylists to nail down your exact size and measurements, as well as hear from us how our garments fit.
If a customer is in the Boston or New York area, we are pleased to offer complimentary in-person consultations at our offices. We can also set up virtual consultations for you to interact with us remotely. Use our online scheduling tool to set up a time.
WHAT IF IT STILL DOESN’T FIT?
If you used our HOME TRY-ON or scheduled a fit consultation, but for some reason your garment does not fit perfectly, send it back to us – we offer a complimentary remake. Fill out the return slip, and include your reason for return as well as what you would like our tailors to change. Once we receive your garment, we will make the necessary changes and send it back to you within 2-4 weeks. We will do everything we can to work with you and make sure the quality, make, and design of your order is par excellence.
SHIPPING POLICY
Bow & Drape offers free ground shipping via UPS to customers within the continental US. Expedited or rush shipping is available at additional cost. We also offer international shipping for an additional cost.
HOW DOES YOUR REFERRAL PROGRAM WORK?
