• We sell 8 unique silhouettes on our site. 1 Home Try-On per silhouette, (8 Home Try-Ons total).
• Each Home Try-On includes 3 cotton or polyester muslins, marked to show you possible sleeves, hems, and necklines.
• In a dressmaking shop, once the garment has been sketched, the designer produces a muslin to bring the dress to life. A muslin is the first version of a dress, typically produced in an inexpensive fabric so the customer can get a sense for how the final product will fit.
• The Home Try-On also contains fabric swatches for the corresponding silhouette, so you can feel the quality of the fabrics and see the richness of the colors.
• Each Home Try-On is representative of all possible style variations for each silhouette. You do not have to worry about ordering a Home Try-On for each modification of a silhouette that you want to try.
• If you order more than 2 Home Try-Ons, an additional charge of $10 applies per Try-On.

to order one Home Try-On. The Michelle Home Try-On will include muslins for the
Michelle Silhouette in up to three sizes.

What is a muslin?

A muslin is defined as an inexpensive, unfinished prototype of a dress. Muslins are often created out of cotton and are used by seamstresses as the first test run of a dress. Typically a client tries on a muslin to see how the pattern of the dress fits their shape. A seamstress then marks and pins the muslin where the pattern needs to be adjusted before creating the finished dress.

Similarly, our muslins are used to give you a sense of how your dress will fit and ensure that you have the correct sizing. We even mark up the dress to show you different hemlines and sleeves.

NOTE: Our muslins DO NOT come in the fabrication of our real dresses.

What is a fabric swatch?

A swatch is defined as a small, cut sample of fabric, typically used to understand the color and feel of a fabrication before cloth is purchased. Seamstresses often keep whole books of swatches in their shop so that customers can choose from a wide array of colors and fabrics.

We include a swatch ring in our Home Try-On so that customers can choose the color and fabrication they fancy.

Will it be exactly like my real dress?

The Home Try-On WILL NOT be exactly like the dress you are purchasing. Rather, the Home Try-On provides an overly-simplified sizing sample. Your finalized dress order will be made with finer fabric, more intricate seaming and all of your trim.

The Home Try-On is fashioned of a cheaper material, simpler seams and is marked with tailor's chalk so that you can see possible variation in hems, sleeves and necklines.

How many can I order?

At any time, you can order 2 Home Try-Ons free of charge. In other words, you can try up to two different styles at any given time at no cost to you. If you wish to try on additional styles and order additional Home Try-Ons, a charge of $10 applies.

How much does it cost?

The Home Try-On is shipped to you at no additional cost. Once you have found a silhouette that you adore, you can easily order a Home Try-On to your home which comes complete with a return shipping label. The only charge incurred is a late return charge, if you fail to return the Home Try-On within 5 business days.

What if it doesn't fit?

If the sizes that you order do not fit for any reason, please contact us. We want to understand your needs and ensure that we can provide you the best fit possible.

How do I complete my order?

Simply put your Home Try-On in your cart and Checkout. The Home Try-On is 100% free. During the checkout process, we ask you to provide a valid credit card before completing your order. We require your credit card information for security purposes, but rest assured that the Home Try-On is free and complimentary. You may see a $0.50 authorization on your account after placing the order, but this will disappear from your card within 48 hours of placing your order.

After receiving your Home Try-On, you will have 5 business days to complete your order, at which point we can happily provide you help with your order.

Can I order the Home Try-On in a color?

No, the Home Try-On comes in either natural cotton or black polyester used strictly for fitting purposes. The muslins are not fashionable by any means; they are rather ugly. After you have tried on your muslins and assured your correct size, you can then order your dress in a color of your choice.

Does sizing runs standard across multiple dresses?

Sizing should run consistently across silhouettes, but it is best to try on a Home Try-On for the silhouette of your choice to ensure it fits as closely as possible.

How do I return the Home Try-On?

To return the Home Try-On, use the poly envelope enclosed with the Home Try-On to enclose all contents for return. Attach the USPS return label and drop the Home Try-On off at any blue mailer or your local post office. Voile.
